我的新年計劃是要每天12點以前睡覺。我要戒掉熬夜的習慣。
Stop doing something 也可以說 kick a habit( “踢掉”一個習慣)，就是戒掉/改掉 一個 (壞)習慣。
I am going to kick the habit of staying up late.
Will 跟 be going to 的用法與差別
【針對事情本身】態度堅定、語氣強弱與把握度的不同
用 will 的語氣比較不確定，而用 be going to 語氣比較有把握
I will read the book. (我會看那本書的。)
I am going to read the book. (我即將要看那本書。)
所以對未來的預測，也是根據把握度不同，而選用不同的說法。
用 will 比較偏向猜測或是自己的意見，而 be going to 更常用在有證據、或是根據現有事實的推論。
I think she will sing my favorite song at the party.
Andy told me that she is going to sing my favorite song at the party.
【針對時間】
臨時起意、說話當下才決定 用 will，事先計劃好、已經決定好了才說 用 be going to。
I will have the soup. (點餐習慣用 will have)
I am going to have some soup for lunch. (早就決定好午餐要喝湯。)
有時候 will 可能用在表達較久遠的未來、還不確定哪時候會發生，而 be going to 偏向用於更有把握做到、有時間表的近未來。
I will visit my friend. (會去，但是還沒決定什麼時候。)
I am going to visit my friend. (儘管沒有說時間，但是應該已經下定決心、甚至是有時間表了。)
【承諾對方的時候】兩人對話的時候，用 will 比較合適
這裡跟有沒有把握守信用沒有關係，主要是用 be going to 語意聽起來會怪怪的。
Will you celebrate Christmas with me? 你會跟我一起慶祝聖誕節嗎？
Yes, I will. I promise. 會的，我答應你。
I am going to celebrate Christmas with you.
聽起來好像在正要去跟對方過聖誕節的路上。
【不變的事實用未來的語氣表達】這種情況用 will 比較合適
There will be another 12 months next year. 明年還是會有12個月。
The sun will rise again tomorrow. 太陽明天還是會再升起的。
如果用 be going to 的話，聽起來很像有時候不是這樣。
