(一) chip in 出錢買東西; 集資出錢;提供意見; 打斷別人說話
用chip in 最常用來表示出點錢買東西，或是打斷別說話來給意見或是講自己想說的話。
例句1: Would you like to chip in for Ester? 你要出錢買禮物給Ester嗎?
例句2: We all chipped in to buy her a birthday present. 我們全部都出一些錢幫她買生日禮物。
例句3: My coworkers always chip in to buy lottery tickets. 我的同事總是集資去買彩卷。
例句4: You can chip in with your suggestions. 你可以提供你的建議。
比較: This mug has a chip in it. 這裡跟以上都沒有關係，因為chip是指有破個洞。
馬克杯有破洞。
(二) walk the talk 言行一致
這個用法很好玩，因為你可能有聽過類似的Talk the talk.或是Walk the walk.而這裡居然合起來一起用。我們們先來看看這幾個長的很像繞口令的是什麼意思。如果你說某人只會Talk the talk. 那就是很會講，只會講得天花亂墜，那就是甚麼都不做。意思就是talk a good game就是很會講，可是啥都不會做。 那如果有個人會Walk the walk. 那就是說到做到。那麼兩個動詞合起來就變成Walk the talk. 那就是言出必行，言行一致。好，我們來看以下的範例。
例句1: He talks the talk but he doesn’t walk the walk. 他很會說但就是無法說到做到。
例句2: Make sure you walk the talk as a business leader. 身為一個商業領袖，你最好確保你說到做到。
例句3: Children will listen to our teaching when we walk the talk. 孩子會聽我們的教導當我們言行一致。
現在我們來複習一下剛才所學過的幾個句子，看看是不是有了解其中的意思。
