While travelling, walking is arguably the best way to come into contact with local people and culture. In this episode, Nicole shares her stories during her 45-day walking trip in Taiwan. Growing up in a city and thus lacking understanding of rural parts of Taiwan, she tells us how this experience opened her eyes and how impressed she was by the hospitality and generosity of local people. In addition to the walking trip, she also briefly talks about her hike to Jade Mountain (Yushan) and bike tour in eastern coast of Taiwan. With Taiwan opening up its border, hopefully more foreign tourists will soon visit Taiwan, possibly following Nicole’s path to gain the most authentic experience, with both people and landscape.
