Post-quantum cryptography may seem bewildered, but if we take a look at cryptography itself first, it is actually the science that builds the foundation of our information world nowadays. Ranging from communication and entertainment, to the protection of state secrets, and even the highly active blockchain technology. They all rely on cryptography as the core for subsequent development.
As for post-quantum cryptography, it is a set of theories about how to keep data transmission safe under the threat of quantum computers. With the rapid development of quantum computers, how to formulate post-quantum cryptography standards has also become an important goal of information security experts.
BTQ, a startup that builds post-quantum infrastructure to enable the next generation of energy-efficient blockchain networks. This September, ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) announced the collaboration with BTQ to develop the next-generation semiconductor technology for post-quantum cryptography.
In this episode of Startup Island Taiwan, we invite the Chief Scientific Officer of BTQ, Chen-Mou Cheng as our guest to talk freely about quantum computing and post-quantum cryptography.
Outline :
🔓Background : the story of Chen-Mou Cheng, the Chief Scientific Officer of BTQ
🔓Decryption : the high-level explanation of quantum computing and post-quantum cryptography
🔓Development : the impact and the importance of NIST’s (National Institute of Standards and Technology, an agency under the U.S. Department of Commerce) announcement of standardised PQC algorithms
🔓Collaboration : the partnership with ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute)
🔓Connection : the advantage of PQC adoption in Taiwan
Host & Guest: Jeremy <> Chen-Mou
