it seems like its being described as a spoiler, but i agree with the argument. someone should just take this to a medium: when the movie gets to the "i'll kill you" scene, what are they doing to do that? it seems like the process is awkward and clumsy and i'd rather just know what will happen and why.this is a really important point. the official writers guide doesn't say anything about this. it just says: "when you first watch the movie, the entire thing takes place in one day. because of this, the day is referred to as 'groundhog day.'"see, this is what i wanted to be clear about. groundhog day is not a movie about time travel. i think it's a movie about what happens when you get to a day and cant go back. it's a movie about how you can get to a day and stay there and see it again, and it's about how that is always a day that you can get to. it's about the fact that time is a construct. time is not "out there" - time is just a line on a map. it's just a line.theres a big difference between what an individual actor says, and what a group of actors say. if i want to make a movie about the battle of hastings, a single person in a modern production company would make a film about the subject. but if i were to organize a group of actors into a company, i could assemble a cast of thousands that could represent the various actors, soldiers, aristocrats, peasants, etc that participated in the battle. rather than a single actor, we could have 1000s of actors. that is one reason why battle re-enactments are so popular. i bet a large percentage of people who say theyre not fans of game of thrones, would love to see a group of actors do a re-enactment of the battle of hastings. and theyd say "i love that show, but im not interested in reenacting history."
