back in sugar rush, ralph and vanellope run across each other, much to ralph's delight. ralph offers vanellope a medal, which she accepts. but the cy-bug decides to take it instead. with the medal, he reveals that he is actually turbo. he explains that he entered the game as a cy-bug, because he wants to find out if he is a hero or a villain. turbo then teams up with ralph to stop the cy-bug and save vanellope. however, when they enter the game, the cy-bug and vanellope are in the middle of a race. ralph and turbo now must race to stop the two from crashing into each other. they both make it through the race, but the cy-bug and vanellope crash.ralph's character arc is essentially a role reversal. when ralph first arrived, he was a selfish and spoiled prince who believed himself above others, until he was confronted by the good-anon game characters, who were there to offer friendship to him for who he was and not who he thought he was, showing him that the way he treated others was wrong. felix, the personification of being a hero, exemplifies that the way to change someone's mind about themselves is to treat them as they truly are. through felix's eyes, ralph came to understand that the things he had always thought were the most important of his life were not; he truly cared about all the video game characters, even though he just saw them as his friends. felix even provides a way for ralph to earn a medal, by arranging for the character of his choice to win the level. despite still having a grudge against the other characters, ralph decides to become a hero and help them, leading to his greatest moral turnaround. felix is the ideal personification of this role reversal, and one of the best representations of the concepts of role-reversal and kindness in cinema.
