the two new characters, mokujin and jinpachi, are both interesting. jinpachi is a little harder to play, but it's because of the changes to his default moves. like every other tekken character, he starts with a basic kick attack. this attack is the same as jin's back kick, and is great to use when you're close up. the big difference is that jinpachi's back kick also has a forward motion where he pushes jin back a few steps. if you time this correctly, you can get jin to hit the ground and get a free follow up. mokujin is a new addition. this is a less mobile character, as he has a grappling hook on his back. he can use this to climb around the screen and attack from above. with his hook, he can slide up or pull down on the ground to make them move. the hook is a little bit more complex than jinpachi's, as he can pull down and use his hook to move up and up in a downward motion. he can also push jin up in the air to attack from above. like jinpachi, his back kick and the hook are powerful moves. they also can be combined to the same effect as jin's back kick. the graphics are not the best on the psp. there is a huge difference between what the character models look like in the arcade version of tekken 5 and the psp version. it isn't so much that they look bad, but it's just a bit funny to see the same character from the console version of tekken 5 look a bit different in the handheld version. it's still fun to play, but it might bother people who were expecting the game to look just like it did on the playstation 2. the fight engine returns, based mostly on the very same, the sport has adopted some new additions. the game is a little bit rough around the edges at times, but in the center of it all, dark resurrection is a tremendous, well made, hand held tekken title. the several new characters are very playable, but some of the old characters seem a little dated. some of the buttons are also not the same as the arcade version, but this just makes you want to play the arcade version instead. i have no idea how namco plans to sell this game as the developers have decided to make changes for the better. maybe they will continue down the same path they were on the last time and make even more changes to the game. in any case, if you are a fan of the series, i would still recommend it.
