this means that not all dentists are truly utilising the features it brings. with new scanning technology, it brings a lot to the table, but as yet, this has been wrapped up in a cohesive package. again, like any new app, it needs to grow and expand to fulfil the promises it makes.this obviously will need to be built up, along with the quality software applications. the software platforms and efficient software applications have been talked up by many; however, the actual software that has been released is a distant second to the issues discussed earlier. this is where the new scanner could make a difference, it can scan files and transfer to the file systems in less than 10 seconds.this software will need to be a customer-focus platform, and have a strong partnership with third-party software firms. the platform also needs to be user-friendly, so that dentists do not need to spend a lifetime learning the system. ivosmile, and now 3shape, have attempted this, but failed. although they have loads of exciting software, they have not brought it all together in a comprehensive program as needed, and some have been left just as they are. there are still more areas to be looked at.first of all, ivosmile is a cloud software company; therefore, it is far removed from your day-to-day business of dentistry and thus needs to be tied to a completely different business model. to complete the package, ivosmile has not only failed to get their clientele to take to this software, but they have actually lost some market share to similar programs. this speaks volumes of their lack of focus.
