5) Once you have installed Hero Editor, launch it. You will see that there are no changes or new settings. You will notice that the only thing that looks different is that the "Load Text File" button is grayed out.6) Click the "Load Text File" button. A text file is automatically opened in Hero Editor. This is the configuration file, which is read for each character you want to edit. (For players returning to Sanctuary in Diablo II: Resurrected, please note that there is now a Configuration File for D2.)8) Edit the character's text file in Hero Editor to set up the character's appearance. Hero Editor is extremely easy to use, and while it is designed for use with other Blizzard games, Hero Editor should be able to set up characters for Diablo II: Resurrected. Try not to change a character's audio! You can always set up an audio file in Hero Editor.10) If you are the only user of the computer, you can close Hero Editor and now go to the "Diablo II: Resurrected" directory. Right-click on the icon of "DiabloII: Resurrected.exe" and select "Run as Administrator". Follow the installation instructions. Once the installation is complete, you can go to the "Diablo II: Resurrected" folder, right click on the icon of "DiabloII: Resurrected.exe" and select "Run". This will launch the game in Hero Editor. From here, we can take advantage of the edits we made to the character. Save your character after editing, and click the "Load" button. Hero Editor will now search for a configuration file. (Note that there is no text file called "DiabloII: Resurrected.character_name_edited" -- that name was used in the previous version of Hero Editor. We use the descriptor name instead.) This time, you should see the character appear in the Hero Editor window as it looks in the game.
