The popular first-person shooter series Call of Duty by Treyarch and Infinity Ward released for the original Xbox and Xbox 360. The first game in this series was Call of Duty, made by Infinity Ward. Call of Duty 2, then Call of Duty 2: World at War, and in the third, Call of Duty 3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a change in design philosophy, to the series from of frenetic action and close-range shooting to more focused firefights and the introduction of firearms that limit the amount of damage but still more powerful than previous weapons. In the fourth game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, it became a third-person game. Call of Duty: Black Ops by Treyarch was released in October of 2001, and was the first game in the Black Ops series. It was also the second Call of Duty game in the fourth generation of video games. It was published by Treyarch and Activision in October of that year. The campaign follows a team of soldiers led by Alex Mason who are part of the resistance. They try to stop Raul Menendez from getting his hands on a powerful drone. Menendez was the main antagonist in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He is the third antagonist in the series to have won through the end of the game with his last kill. There is a story campaign available in Black Ops, Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3. The player will have to choose whether or not to help the resistance or join the security force. The players that choose to help the resistance are able to play the campaign in any order desired. The choice to join the security forces is made once the campaign starts for both Black Ops 2 and 3. They can join the security forces as early as when they pick up the rifle in the hands of Alex Mason for the first time in Black Ops 2. In Black Ops 3, the player can join the security force after completing the third Black Ops 2 mission. Each soldier is given different talents depending on the path they take in the game.
