With the BJP growing weaker in Karnataka, the saffron party in Tamil Nadu on Monday announced V Muraleedharan to be the state unit president, replacing former state in-charge B S Yeddyurappa who was ousted in a massive feud in May, 2016.Among other demands, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also demanded the PM to consider the demand of the state to release all pending GST dues and return Katchatheevu island to Sri Lanka.In 2015, the Centre released ₹31,500 crore to Tamil Nadu during the last three years. But, the state has failed to utilise the funds in delivering developmental works. He also referred to the demand for reclaiming Katchatheevu from Sri Lanka.When the Tamil Nadu film industry with its annual budget of ₹5000 crore enters into a partnership with DC, the entire fraternity feels a sense of pride. But, when such sentiments are followed by the state Government to procure double figure films, the industry feels cheated and dismayed.In this backdrop, the honour for making a ‘home-grown’ film with an exorbitant budget must go to director Vignesh Karthicks Thittam Irandu, and the film has been released on August 16 in 4,149 screens across the state. The film released the day after the star-castration of DMK president MK Stalin, who found a strong opponent in his arch rival DMK president MK Stalin, after the Tamil Nadu Government requisitioned ‘star cinema’s’ No 0 Chelladurai and Gopi C for the premier of Yennai Arindhaal. And it is due to this film, that the state Government has sought to buy back the film. Vignesh was in the thick of the first war between Stalin and Stalin before he handed over the Dileep Project to the duo. The film was also distributed by Venkatesh Babu of ST Prasad, who oversaw the sacking of actor Kamal Haasan for a few movies.
