hi, i've been trying to fix this for the past few days. my experience is that any time i try to perform any kind of action that involves the maya ui, when the script runs the ui crashes and the error message is 'an assertion failed!' how do i get rid of this error? i've tried all the options i can think of and nothing seems to work. thanks for any help! -colinwhen importing in maya, i noticed that some of my layers in the file would have 'unknown' as their name. what does this mean? i'm not sure if it's an error, but i'm not seeing anything about it online.hi, i'm having an issue with getting the seam tool to work. i've been working on a series of tutorials and when i try to import the meshes i made into maya, i keep getting an error that says: "no seam mesh available. could not import mesh. the error is: mesh name: null." i was able to get the error to go away if i simply deleted the mesh and started again. i'm having a hard time trying to figure out what is causing this issue. any help would be appreciated! thanks -mikehi, i've been working on a few "student" models lately, and i've noticed a bit of a weird issue with maya. the only time it crashes is when i close maya after i've selected a selection of objects. the last selection i make is the one that seems to trigger the issue. i've been searching through the settings and i haven't been able to find anything that seems to have anything to do with this.i believe is not installed correctly (the files are not in the right directory). the interface doesnt look correct because maya did not load the ae template (.mel) which should be located inside the maya/2022/scripts/. the plug-in file (.mll) goes into maya/2022/plug-ins/, making sure it is in the correct location could fix your auto-load issue.
