there are two big problems with shantae advance. the first one is that it takes place in an entirely new world, and it takes up much more space than the original game. this comes from the inclusion of a new character, risky boots, and a lot of new enemy types, levels, and locations. its fairly fun to play, but its hard to miss the fact that this is a sequel and not a remake. shantae 3: risky retribution (cancelled game boy advance game: 2005/2006) a game's title screen. current status partially found shantae 3: risky retribution was to be the second sequel to shantae, this time featuring a new character named risky boots. risky boots was going to be a pirate, and would be in the game. this time, shantae would have to defeat risky. risky would have her own magical hat that could give her special powers, as well as one of shantae's six transformations. the game was to be an rpg, and a sequel to the game boy color game. shantae, however, has the ability to transform into a complete different creature. this time, shantae would go into the labyrinth, the mysterious dimension of the risky universe. shantae would have to collect the seven bells of risky and return them to the worlds ruler, risky boots. this would allow shantae to return to the main world, and defeat risky. this game would also see shantae fighting against allies such as the mermaid, the saboteur, the pirate queen, and the pirate king. the game was cancelled.
