The movie has moments that are disturbing, creepy, and downright scary. The crew also does a pretty good job at managing to be as authentic as possible without being outright absurd. I didn't find myself laughing, only calling out how horribly corny the dialogue could sometimes be. However, there were a lot of funny moments, like the scuttlebutt scene when everyone was talking amongst themselves and the obvious "Mikey, you look awfully strange for a guy from Texas" moment, which I laughed out loud at. I also enjoyed how the script never wavered from what I'd expect from a silent film. It was like watching the film again, but this time I knew what was coming. Anybody Can Dance (1983) - A musical comedy with a circular plot about a musical act which travels around the country performing to very large audiences. To further pad out the cast, they have "extras" - a near-sighted blind musician, a young homosexual, a gimpy jazz musician and a deaf librarian.Databases such as The International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance and Digital Theatre Plus are subject specific, while others such as Academic Search Premier are broad and can contain references from thousands of journals spanning many disciplines. Don't just point out The Goonies and The Breakfast Club and tell me there is a whole fandom devoted to the former. If I go see those movies again and again and again, great. But it shouldn't feel as if the entertainment world's biggest auteur is secretly and resentfully announcing "Your taste is horrid, I own you."
