The checksum is always a N bit number. If your application generates N unique checksums, then you have a complete black list of all your license keys. When the software checks the unique number to decide whether it is a valid key, it only has to check the N first bytes of the checksum. This is the advantage of using a checksum, since you need to generate only N unique values to build your black list. Any attempts by a cracker to create a valid license key that passes the checksum test will fail to generate a hash value that is within your black list.The third step, and possibly the hardest, is to modify your application code so that it will generate a hash value for the N bytes given as license when theyre being used as part of your checksum. Thats why, in the first place, your checksum generation code is included with the debug keygen, because you need this code to get the license bytes you can use as part of the license key checksum. The thing is, when the app is checked, the debug keygen alone will not generate a checksum that will pass, since your application has to generate the license for the checksum to pass.To accomplish this, you will need to extract the bytes from the license and use them in your code.
