splash mountain, a dark ride, is a large log flume which takes guests through a flooded lumber mill. guests climb an eight story waterlogged log flume in the timber mountain logging camp, and have the opportunity to look over the dam, crossing the frothing water during the ride. in the splashdown, guests are squirted up a large log and soar over the "thundering rapids" of the adventure.while you're in the location, it's worth stopping for a meal before heading back. there are many restaurants to choose from, with the best being located in universal's islands of adventure and universal studios florida. however, both disney and universal offer good food at reasonable prices, so you won't be wasting any money if you choose to eat in the theme parks. shark encounter - sea of mystery the shark encounter (known simply as "the shark" at seaworld) is one of the park's most popular attractions, and as the name suggests, is all about sharks. the shark encounter features manatees and grey nurse sharks which visitors can feed and socialize with. the attraction opened in 1985. the current building was built in 1992. it is housed within the seaworld's shark bay, which is a man-made lagoon. there are also two smaller touch pools. the shark encounter (along with the adjacent sea lion and otter habitat) is located in the sea of mystery area of the park, which is on the northern end of the park. it is surrounded by the sea of mystery, the sea of power and the twilight zone tower of terror. wild arctic - sea of power wild arctic is an indoor animal exhibit that sits next to the adjacent sea of power area of the park. the exhibit is home to four different species of fur seal, and also welcomes visitors to observe beluga whales, pacific walrus, harbor seals and the infamous polar bears. wild arctic was first opened to the public in july 1994, and includes a motion simulator that is followed by an indoor animal exhibit. it was the first wildlife habitat at seaworld and is the only one at seaworld orlando. wild arctic is located in the sea of power section of the park, which is north of the main area of seaworld. it is surrounded by the hollywood hills amphitheater, rock 'n' roller coaster starring aerosmith and beauty and the beast live on stage.
