Following the passage of a Chinese satellite over Taiwan's southern airspace just a few days before a vital presidential election, Taiwan issued a warning for an air raid across the entire island.

A statement from Taiwan's Ministry of Defense stated that the satellite was launched at 15:03 local time from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre, which is located in the province of Sichuan in China.
