The Challenge of Path Tracing
While the performance of the RTX 5090 with DLSS 4 is impressive, the results also underscore the challenges of Path Tracing. As a technology, Path Tracing fully integrates ray tracing into every aspect of a game’s visuals, providing unparalleled realism but at a steep computational cost. Even the previous-generation RTX 4090 struggled with Path Tracing, often dipping below 20 FPS in complex scenes.
The RTX 5090 represents a significant step forward in raw power, but without DLSS, it too faces limitations in rendering the most demanding games with all settings maxed out.
