1. I heard about a high school in Chicago where students had to pass a certain number of courses to graduate, and if they didn't pass a course, they got the grade "Not Yet."  *not yet 還沒有;尚未
西方思維: 西方教育文化重視「學習過程勝過結果」,失敗不被視為終點,而是暫時狀態。「Not Yet」表現了過程思維,強調潛力和成長的可能性。
2. And I thought that was fantastic, because if you get a failing grade, you think, I'm nothing, I'm nowhere. 
But if you get the grade "Not Yet", you understand that you're on a learning curve. It gives you a path into the future. *fantastic 很棒的 * a falling grade 不及格分數 *a learning curve 學習曲線  
西方思維: 西方強調「能力是可以發展的」,失敗只是暫時的學習過程。「Learning curve學習曲線」隱含對未來進步的信念,鼓勵自我改善和長期規劃。
3. On the left, you see the fixed mindset students. There’s hardly any activity. They run from the error. They don’t engage with it. * fixed mindset students 固定思維學生 *run from the error 逃避錯誤

西方思維: 西方文化認為固定思維是限制性的思維,會阻礙學習和創新,會讓人不願意面對錯誤,也無法解決問題。
4. But on the right, you have the students with the growth mindset, the idea that abilities can be developed. They engage deeply. Their brain is on fire with yet. They engage deeply. They process the error. They learn from it and they correct it. * the students with the growth mindset 成長型心態的學生 *engage deeply 深度參與 
西方思維: 西方文化 強調努力和策略能改變能力,深度參與、處理錯誤並且從中學習。
5. First of all, we can praise wisely, not praising intelligence or talent. That has failed. Don’t do that anymore.

西方思維: 西方教育心理學重視過程型讚美,避免固定思維陷阱。讚美努力和策略能促進長期動機,而非僅靠天賦。
6. Let’s not waste any more lives, because once we know that abilities are capable of such growth, it becomes a basic human right for children, all children, to live in places that create that growth, to live in places filled with yet. *waste lives 浪費生命  *abilities are capable of growth 能力是可以成長
