151. The Church in India is particularly faithful to this charism. It feels the need to live this charism for itself, to conserve it in its rites and structures, to incorporate it in its life, and to develop it in its adult believers and in its consecrated people. This is the reason for the assimilation of the Indians in the Church. In her daily pastoral activity, the Church has a great passion for the Indians, as their Magis are often very knowledgeable and educated, and even some of them have completed graduate studies. They are faithful to the charism as a whole, and do not allow themselves to be discouraged by their own conditions. They all engage in prayer, they seek a deep and constant Word, and they are also active in ministry. They are strongly marked by a spiritual intuition and a great interior life, which are of great help to them when they are in the jungle or travelling. They do not allow themselves to be hindered by their lack of culture. They all have a great devotion to the Bishop, to whom they voluntarily submit and who inspires them. They seek to see things and people in the correct light of the Gospel. They can be present in the midst of cultures which are often very different from their own, and constantly attest to the universality of the Gospel. The Church in India also knows the value of a charismatic community, which is not based on a certain ethnical particularity. [119] It is essential for the Indians who are the chosen people of God that they take on the responsibility of such a charismatic community. They can also feel themselves associated with the Church as a whole, in the spiritual communion of which all the faithful in India have an equal share.
