if you have been wondering why you sometimes see the same old camera profiles within a lightroom catalog, the answer is that it is probably a simple case of a user using the wrong one. if you are trying to use a profile that is linked to a certain camera model, you will find you do not have the same controls available on a different model. to get all the available controls, you will either have to link the profile to a different camera, or create a new one. the latter is a bit more cumbersome, but also much more productive. you can create a new profile within the import dialog window and simply paste the corresponding camera settings into it. unfortunately, adobe did not provide a way to do this on the fly, so youll have to repeat the process for every new profile you create.if you want to use lightroom to convert a bunch of jpegs, you can do so with the single-image conversion process. i will not cover this in detail here, but the process is pretty straight forward. simply drag the files into the dialog window and you can set the settings for your own needs. this is the best option when you want to export your images in jpeg format.if you have moved your images from your primary editing software to lightroom, you will notice that the export dialog window is slightly different from before. this is because the export tool has been improved. the previous version used the same settings as the import tool, which is not something you want to use if you plan on editing your files in some other software. now, you can choose from the provided presets to get a good starting point and then fine tune the output settings yourself. the presets are only valid for jpeg images, though, so if you have any raw files, you will have to use the convert to srgb file settings.
